Today ScapeNation.com launched. Created by Red Tettemer with help from Plus Factory, ScapeNation is a virtual world for tweens (kids aged 13-15yrs old) to create their own avatar and meet/socialize with other tweens within that environment. Additionally ScapeNation will offer additional services and accessories for kids to add to their avatars like cool clothes and accessories.
Thats where Plus Factory came in. Working with Red Tettemer’s esteemed creative and technology groups, Plus Factory help build the avatar models (in Flash) and hundreds of asscessories that users can place onto their avatars. But enough talk, go see for yourself by logging on to:

Plus Factory helped launch the new website from Spinspotter.com, called uSpin.me. If you don’t know who Spinspotter.com is, they are a media company that created special software allowing users to mark webpages that have ‘spin’ on them. New York Times did a great profile on them which you can read here.
Spinspotter.com wanted a separate web property that would leverage their technology but make it easier for readers to see if any particular URL had spin on it, hence the creation of http://www.uSpin.me
This website (really a web application), will query any submitted URL into the Spinspotter.com engine, and report back if there was any ‘spin’ reported on it. With Spinspotter.com being a start-up and fairly new, the best sites to test the uSpin.me site would be pages from news organizations like CNN, New York Times, MSNBC, etc. Those are where you will see many pages marked for ‘spin’ by Spinspotter.com users.
Plus Factory designed, built and help Spinspotter.com implement this site with their already built technology.
UPDATE – 4/6/2009
Spinspotter has changed their branding from Spinspotter.com to Sparknotes.com. Due to the recent change the uSpin.me site is currently down while they re-configure the branding for that site as well.

So time is flying by and I figure I can start talking about the new initiatives coming from Plus Factory. As hinted in the past we are focusing on providing web software for our Clients (specifically Agencies) that would be great companion offerings with the standard great services we currently offer now.
This new set of software (which will be web based and hence web software) will allow our Clients to operate and perform more efficiently and empower them to do the work on their own besides working with vendors like Plus Factory. We are calling these set of web software ‘Plus Ad Tools’. They will be a series of products that will launch separately, but when launched will work with each other to offer compelling functions for our clients. Think Microsoft Office for Digital Creative Agencies. And because they are totally different from Plus Factory’s current service offerings, we plan to launch them under a different corporate name (name TBD).
So the first product we are planning to launch is the Plus Extranet. An extranet is a presentation tool, allowing agencies to showcase digital work to their clients in an controlled environment. They include log/password settings and accounts specific for each client or user. Ours will be doing this plus more (which I won’t go into detail just yet). We were hoping to have this in Beta by this time but like most product/app development, we are running a bit behind schedule. So the best I can do at this time is show you a screenshot of the product and keep on giving you updates until hopefully we are launched for Beta and for our trial testers. If you read this, and you’re an Agency and would like to be a free trial tester, please contact me at warren@plusfactory.com. I would be happy to add you into the program.

So for end of year 2008 Plus Factory launched the NikeID E-Greeting card in China. This E-Greeting card allows users to pick their own backgrounds, shoes, type in their message and send it along the way to friends and family members. The program has been such a hit that Nike would like to re-use the Flash-based E-Greeting card for other upcoming holidays. Plus Factory is eager to help with those versions.
