I'm very proud to announce a brand new chapter in the history of Plus Factory, Plus Factory Mobile (or PF Mobile). PF Mobile is a new division of Plus Factory that focuses exclusively on mobile.
This has been an organic decision for us, due to the demand in the marketplace for an trusted partner in delivering mobile strategy, solutions and products. Plus the export of incredible new platforms like the Android and Apple iOS, people are just excited about the mobile world.
We have a strong focus on the Apple platform including apps but also HTML5 ads and applications. An example of our HTML5 work was the HTML5 video player. We of course are working on the Android, Windows, RIM as well, but we feel that the Apple OS platform offers our clients the most potential and opportunities.
Please take a look at the PF Mobile website, and reach out to us for any mobile needs or just consultation. Jamie Ashe leads our Mobile new business initiatives and would be happy to speak with you anytime.
So Google has made the iPhone YouTube App (created by Apple) totally obsolete. Now you can log in at m.youtube.com and get the same seamless experience that you would get from the app, and according to Google – an even BETTER experience. Judge for yourself, check out the video released by Google:
So we been very busy here at the Factory. Mobile and HTML5 has been a huge focus of ours this past month (more on that to come). I want to show you a quick sample of an HTML5 piece we did, which is to create a HTML5 player for our company reel. Now you can check out the video from a web browser or a smartphone browser, doesn’t matter to us. And yes, you don’t need Adobe Flash to do so.
Welcome our newest member to the Plus Factory team, Christine. Christine is a new member to the elite Plus Factory Project Management team. She will be running multiple programs for our clients especially the cool mobile work that we are getting more and more involved with.
Before joining Plus Factory, Christine was an PM for a major e-commerce company, working with developers and getting involved with SEO for products that the company sells (SEO is very big in the e-com world). Her experience in SEO will bring added benefits to our current roster of Clients.
So if you hear her name, say hi, she’s friendly, energetic and eager to work on your projects.
So the Munny Exhibit on 5/15/2010 was a smashing success! Many people came, and the Kid Robot Mummy dolls were a huge hit with the audience and the charity auction. The Plus Factory team were able to go in person and check out the Kid Robot’s. Also while we were at play, we still were working (as is the Plus Factory motto), and the Munny Exhibit site was going into post-event launch, with new sections opening up on the website.
Come to the website, http://www.munnyexhibit.com, to check out each industrial designed Munny doll from the exhibit, plus photo feeds from the event, video feeds (including the infamous BlimpCam), and see the live tweets that came in about the Munny Exhibit. Lots of fun stuff to check out.
I’m proud to announce the launch of the Munny Exhibit website. Working with our Client Profero, who is running the communications of this exhibit, they brought Plus Factory in to help build the website which will showcase the collective works of 20 of today’s hottest industrial designers and the Munny Doll from Kid Robot. If you don’t know who Kid Robot or the Munny doll is, I guess you have to Google it, but basically its the most iconic doll in the Kid Robot collection. And Kid Robot has donated 20 blank Munny dolls, so the industrial designers can go wild and make it their own.
All 20 Munny dolls will be showcased at the Munny Exhibit at the Ace Hotel, NY on 5/15. Then afterwards a Charity Auction will be held on the dolls. Check out the website and you can see the profiles on all 20 industrial designers and learn more about the exhibit itself. And if you can’t make it, come back after May 15th to see the actual designed Munny dolls yourself on the site.
We are proud and excited to be part of this exhibit and thank Profero for bringing us in for the ride.
So the big news is that Apple is finally getting into the game and launching their own ad platform for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. This platform is called iAds, and will allow developers to come up with creative ads and put them onto apps. These developers will get a cut of the revenue from Apple (60%). All ads of course will need to be develop in HTML5 (Steve Job’s preference of choice, sorry Adobe).
It will be interesting to see how Apple’s play into mobile ad networks play out with the other established players out there like AdMob.
